Version 1.9.0

  • Camera button: fixed a crash about ten seconds after opening CocoCut from Camera Control, Control Center or the Action button; in the viewfinder, the camera and volume buttons now start recording too.
  • Grid reorder: pull up the clip tray's handle to lay every clip out in a numbered grid, then press and drag a clip to any spot.
  • Clip tray: your clips now sit in one tidy frame with + pinned on the left, so adding never means scrolling to the end.
  • Export moved: the Export button now lives at the top right, leaving room to see more clips at once.
  • Grid crop: crop each Moments grid cell on its own, and pinch to zoom into the whole poster.
  • Smoother play: dragging and tapping in the editor while a clip plays now feels much more fluid.

Version 1.8.0

  • Camera Control: launch CocoCut straight from the iPhone 16/17 camera button, even from the Lock Screen, plus one-tap recording from the Action button, Control Center and Siri.
  • Moments grid: new grid posters and covers with each clip's time stamped on, turning your day into a visual diary.
  • Footprints: a new monthly calendar fills each day you shot with that day's frame, with total and streak counts at a glance.
  • Film history: every life movie you export is remembered, ready to rewatch, share, or save again.
  • Films album: the library gains a Films shelf, one big memory card per film.
  • In-app guide: the User Guide, privacy policy and terms now open right inside the app, one tap to get back.
  • Update notes: what's new after an update now opens full screen.

Version 1.7.0

  • Guided tips: the first time a feature matters, it lights up and tells you where to tap.
  • New opening: the intro is one page now. Pick what you want to record, and see all three permissions together.
  • Album switch: the first time you open the library, it points out that the title at the top switches albums.
  • Sound toggle: the studio's default mute can be turned off, so it opens with sound.
  • Share link: the More page can now share CocoCut with a friend.
  • Crash fixes: trimming to the very edge of the timeline and switching camera lenses no longer crash.
  • Visual fixes: the opening screen's back button and permission card no longer clip at the edges.

Version 1.6.0

  • Caption timing: every caption gets its own in and out point, so you can drag to retime or tap to jump to that frame.
  • Translation: captions are listed line by line, so you can translate one and replace it in place.
  • Clip timeline: now a fixed-width fill, so short and long clips both span the screen without pinch-zooming.
  • Text tools: the studio rail folds into one button that unrolls text, date, place and Mojika.
  • Mojika symbols: pick one from the built-in library and it lands on the frame right away, with no extra confirm step.
  • Fusion Pixel: a new 12px pixel font covering Simplified, Traditional, Japanese and Korean.

Version 1.5.2

  • Thermals: optimized viewfinder idle and studio scheduling to reduce battery drain and heat.
  • Recording: timer and label no longer snap back to 0.0s during recording, saving and fade-out.
  • Clip preview: fixed an issue where tapping tray clips failed to refresh preview or misaligned crop geometry.
  • Thumbnails: tray thumbnails no longer occasionally render square past their rounded frame.
  • New frames: after editing a clip, its tray thumbnail swaps to the new frame without flickering.
  • Viewfinder: fixed an occasional viewfinder failure while the camera was switching.
  • Update badge: the camera settings button shows a red dot when a new version is out; it clears once you read the release notes.

  • Subtitles: tap the caption pill under a clip to open the full-screen editor instead of typing above the keyboard.
  • Fonts & music: import, audition and preview your own freely; membership is only checked when you export.
  • Reordering: clips show their number while you drag, and the selection no longer jumps back after you drop.
  • Music: previewing a track no longer pauses the video.
  • Preview: edits wait for the new frame before fading in, so nothing flickers.
  • Deleting: removing the current clip selects its neighbor instead of leaving an empty stage.

Version 1.5.0

  • Clip library: every clip you shot lives here; tap + in the studio to open it, or swipe the pill left on the capture page to add clips to the current vlog.
  • Capture bar: flash, timer, Live Photo and auto push-in are one row of icons now — tap one to switch it, and a short note says what changed.
  • Live Photos: takes of any length can be saved as Live Photos; the first time you turn it on, we explain how they land in Photos.
  • Save to Photos: auto-saving every take to Photos can now be turned off to keep clips inside CocoCut only; we explain what that means before you turn it off.
  • Date sticker: in bursts, skip repeats by new day or by a 5 or 30 minute gap; both can be on at once, and the first clip always gets the date.
  • Storage: the More page shows usage; export to Photos, delete for good, or favorite, and you're told how many vlogs still use a clip before deleting.
  • What's new: the first launch after an update shows what changed, even offline.

  • Home widget: see today's clip count at a glance, tap to jump back to the viewfinder.
  • New filters: Neg, Chrome and Classic, one tap each.
  • Watermark off: free accounts can turn it off too; it comes back after 14 days.
  • Import music: members can bring in their own tracks, tagged and removable.

Version 1.3.0

  • Dual camera: shoot with the front and back cameras at once. Drag the picture-in-picture to any corner, or swap which camera leads.
  • Background music: pick from the built-in library, preview a track before you commit, and it mixes into your export automatically.
  • Live Photos now import as the video inside them, with per-clip progress and iCloud download status.
  • The sticker style panel floats above the preview, so it never shrinks or covers what you're editing.
  • The finished-video preview gained a scrub bar.

  • The export screen is rebuilt: it holds your first frame while rendering, then plays the finished video right there.
  • Exports save to Photos automatically — no second tap on Save.
  • You can stop an export midway instead of waiting it out.
  • The album picker groups clips by capture date, so Today and Yesterday stand apart.
  • Date stickers gain "Date on new day": later clips from the same day stop repeating the date.
  • The hint at the bottom of the editor stays put and cycles through tips.
