1. Data Collection

CocoCut is a local-first short video diary. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not directly collect personal information such as your name, phone number, or email address for app usage.

Video clips you record or import, and videos you export, are stored locally on your device by default. We do not operate a cloud library for your life footage and do not upload your videos unless you explicitly use a feature that sends data (described below).

Depending on how you use the App, the following may apply:

• Device permissions: Camera and microphone access for recording; photo library access for import or saving exports. This content stays on your device.
• Purchases (RevenueCat): If you buy CocoCut VIP, Apple App Store / Google Play and RevenueCat process transaction and subscription status (for example app user identifiers and receipt validation). We use this to unlock membership features, not to collect your videos. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
• Analytics (Mixpanel): We use Mixpanel to understand product usage (for example feature taps, screen flows, and subscription funnel events). Events are tied to an anonymous install / app-user identifier we generate on device — not your name, email, phone number, or IDFA. We do not use Mixpanel to upload your videos or photo library content. See the Mixpanel Privacy Policy.
• Optional cloud AI features: If you choose subtitle translation or similar features, the App may send the subtitle text you submit and necessary request metadata to our API (ai.cococut.app) for real-time processing only. Requests may include an anonymous device / install identifier for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not require uploading raw video files for these features, and we do not keep a cloud library of your subtitle text after the request completes (provider-side transient processing may occur solely to return the result).
• Font resources: The App may download font manifests and font files from our API for subtitle styling. This does not require personal information.
• Website visits: When you visit https://cococut.app, our host (Cloudflare) may process standard network logs (such as IP address and User-Agent) for security and performance. This site does not use third-party advertising SDKs.

2. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with service providers only as needed to operate the App:

• Apple / Google: App distribution, in-app purchases, and refunds are handled by their platforms.
• RevenueCat: Subscription status management. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
• Mixpanel: Product analytics events and anonymous install / app-user identifiers. See the Mixpanel Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare: Website and API edge hosting / network protection.
• AI model providers: Optional subtitle translation may be forwarded by our backend to model providers to process the text you submit in real time and return a result. We aim to send only what is needed to complete the request and do not operate a persistent cloud archive of your submitted subtitle text for later retrieval.

We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request, or when necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the public.

3. Data Protection

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data in transit and processing. Local media retention is under your control on your device. Optional AI subtitle requests are handled as real-time processing; we do not keep a browsable cloud library of your submitted subtitle text. Other cloud-side operational logs or analytics events are retained only as long as needed for functionality, product improvement, security, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.

No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure. Uninstalling the App may delete local data; please export or back up important content yourself.

4. User Rights and Choices

• You can revoke camera, microphone, or photo library permissions in system settings (related features may stop working).
• Optional cloud translation is not required for core local capture and stitching.
• Analytics events use an anonymous install / app-user identifier rather than an account profile. If you want us to stop processing analytics associated with your install where feasible, contact us at the email below (include enough context for us to locate the identifier if available).
• You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.

5. Children's Privacy Protection

CocoCut maintains the same level of privacy protection for all users. We do not knowingly collect or store personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

6. Privacy Policy Updates

We may periodically update this privacy policy. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Where appropriate, we may also provide notice in the App or on the website.
