Are my personal videos uploaded to your servers?
Never. CocoCut operates on a privacy-first model. All recorded clips, imported footage, and rendered films are stored strictly on your local device and native photo album. We do not operate video storage servers.
Does the app use internet connectivity?
CocoCut only establishes network connections for essential operational services that never transmit your personal video content:
- Subscription Validation: Verifying Apple ID or Google Play purchases via RevenueCat.
- Anonymous Stability Analytics: Tracking non-personally identifiable crash reports and diagnostic metrics via Mixpanel.
- Soundtrack Catalog: Downloading royalty-free background music tracks from our cloud catalog.
- AI Subtitle Translation: Sending text strings to cloud translation endpoints when you choose to translate captions.
Film & Footage Management
What happens if I accidentally delete an exported film from my photo album?
It cannot be restored from within the app. Original film files are saved directly into your device's native photo gallery. The app sandbox only keeps a lightweight metadata record and a cover thumbnail. If the asset is permanently purged from your camera roll, the in-app card marks the status as "Removed from Photos, cover only". We strongly recommend enabling iCloud Photos or Google Photos backup.
Does it cost money to remove the watermark?
No. Watermark removal is permanently free for all users. In the export configuration sheet, anyone can switch the watermark off. For free tier users, the off state remains active for 14 days (tap again whenever it resets). For Pro members, watermark removal is remembered permanently.
What technical format are exported videos in?
CocoCut exports universally compatible .mp4 / .mov files encoded in 30fps H.264 video and AAC 128k audio, ready for sharing to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or direct messaging.
