To minimize friction when capturing daily moments, CocoCut provides a native 1:1 Home Screen widget for both iOS and Android. The entire widget is a single active tap target: tap anywhere on the card to launch straight into the camera viewfinder.
Widget Layout & States
The widget is intentionally lightweight and avoids background battery drain. It updates a snapshot whenever clips change or when you return to the app:

Smart Date Handling: The widget doesn't run continuous background tasks. If your latest clip says "Today 18:24", the native system calendar transitions the text to the absolute date (e.g.
9/19) once midnight passes, so it never displays an outdated "Today".
How to Add the Widget
iOS (iPhone)
- Touch and hold any empty area on your iPhone Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
- Tap the
+button in the upper-left corner. - Search for CocoCut and select it.
- Select the standard 1:1 square widget (systemSmall) and tap "Add Widget".
- Position the widget where you like and tap "Done".
Android
- Touch and hold an empty space on your Android home screen.
- Tap "Widgets" from the bottom menu.
- Scroll or search for CocoCut.
- Touch and hold the 1x1 widget, then drag it onto your home screen.
Tap & Deep Link Behavior
The entire widget card routes to the deep link: cococut://capture.
Tapping anywhere on the widget instantly opens the camera viewfinder so you can capture moments on the fly.
