In CocoCut, finished exported videos are called "Films". Here is how our rendering pipeline operates and where your files are stored.
Export Engine & Technical Specs
CocoCut uses an FFmpeg pipeline coupled with native hardware encoders:
- Resolution Tiers:
- Free: Standard 1080P Full HD (FHD).
- Pro: Ultra-sharp 4K Ultra HD (UHD).
- Normalized 30fps: To prevent audio sync issues and frame drops across mixed source clips, all exported films are normalized to a stable 30 frames per second.
- Hardware Acceleration:

Watermark Removal Policy: Watermark removal is permanently free for all users. Free users can turn off the watermark toggle inside the export configuration sheet, which stays active for 14 days. Pro members have their watermark preferences remembered permanently. The watermark is a subtle brand wordmark positioned in the bottom-right corner of each clip.
Films Archive & Storage Architecture
When an export completes, a Film card appears in your library:
- Original Video Lives in Photos: Rendered video files are saved directly into your device's native Photos library. The app sandbox only keeps a lightweight metadata record (date, duration, resolution) and a cover image thumbnail.
- When Video Exists in Photos: You can preview the film inside CocoCut, share to messaging or social apps, or re-save a copy to your camera roll.
- Deleting from System Photos: If you delete the video from your Apple Photos or Android Gallery, the card state updates to "Removed from Photos, cover only". Since the original asset was removed from disk, it cannot be played back or restored from within the app. Ensure device photo backups (e.g. iCloud Photos or Google Photos) are enabled.
